Her footfalls echoed softly on the cold stone floor of the temple. Moonlight filtered in through the high windows, casting eerie shadows upon the altar of the sacred stones. The emerald, ruby, and sapphire jewels glittered in the light of the full moon.
She walked past the altar into the room beyond. A large dais occupied most of the circular room. At the center of the dais was the Pedestal of Time. There within the pedestal rest the Master Sword. The sword of evil's bane. The key to the door between this realm and the Sacred Realm. She wasn't here for the sword. She came for what it kept locked away.

The elements were displeased. Even with as far into the temple as she was, the wind still blew through the angry fire that marked the four cardinal directions to her magic circle. The wind howled in fury. Bits of sand from the desert found their way into her hair as she ground her herbs into a poultice. Her old hands aching as she muddled the herbs with oil and water.
The scent of sandalwood permeated the air, but it would do nothing to calm the furious wind. The fire roared and danced, almost as if it were trying to gain her attention. Further into the temple, the spirits began to wail.
